Man and Van Jobs Across the UK
Man and van jobs are self-employed, per-job moving work — from single-item collections to full house moves — booked by the job rather than by the hour of employment. With Man and Van Club you apply once for free, verify your insurance, then review and quote real customer move requests in your approved area. There is no monthly subscription and no fee to quote. A platform fee only applies when a customer accepts your quote and pays a booking deposit, which is deducted from your quote and capped at £50.

How moving work usually reaches movers — and how we do it
Most moving work online reaches movers through lead-selling sites or open bidding marketplaces. We built the model we would want to quote on ourselves: no lead fees, one mover quoting at a time, and a deposit-backed booking before your phone ever rings about the job.
| What matters to you | Typical lead-selling sites | Bidding marketplaces | Man and Van Club |
|---|---|---|---|
| Monthly subscription | Sometimes required | Varies by platform | None |
| Cost to send a quote | Often pay per lead | Usually free to bid | Always free |
| Quotes competing per customer | Several movers at once | Open bidding to many | One mover at a time |
| Customer commitment before you get details | None | Only if they pick you | Booking deposit paid |
| Fee before the job is confirmed | Possible | Possible | Never |
| Maximum you pay on a booked job | Varies with lead cost | Commission varies | £50 current maximum |
Competitor descriptions are general models, not claims about any single company. Our own terms are published on this site and in the mover FAQ.

The money, stated plainly
No earnings promises — here is exactly how you get paid
Any platform that promises you a weekly income is guessing at your diary and your area. We would rather show you the exact maths than quote you a number: your prices, a known maximum fee, and a paid deposit before the customer details release.
No subscription, no quote fees
Joining is free and every quote you send is free. Your costs are zero until someone actually books you.
Fee only on accepted quotes
The customer pays a booking deposit through Man and Van Club. That deposit is retained as the platform booking fee and deducted from your quote — currently never more than £50.
You set every price
You quote what the job is worth to you. Customer guide prices on the platform run from around £19 per hour for self-load help up to £55+ per hour for larger moves — you are never locked to them.
Worked example: you quote £300 for a move. The customer pays a £25 booking deposit through us, which we retain as the platform fee. On moving day the customer pays you the remaining £275 directly. Your total for the job stays £300.
