Scotland moving challenges
Scotland's two largest cities are very different. Edinburgh has medieval Old Town streets with restricted vehicle access, tenement closes with spiral staircases, and the A1 corridor. Glasgow has wider Victorian streets but tight lanes in the West End. Aberdeen has granite tenements. Dundee sits on the Tay with steep approaches. Beyond the cities, the Highlands and rural Scotland have long distances between towns and single-track roads. The A9 is the main north-south route but can be slow.
