Loughborough is a market town in Leicestershire, home to Loughborough University — one of the UK's largest campus universities. The student population of over 17,000 creates two major moving peaks each year: July when students move out and September when they move in.
The Golden Triangle (the area between the university, Epinal Way and Forest Road) has hundreds of student houses and HMOs. During move-in and move-out weeks, the streets are packed with vans and cars. Parking is extremely limited and access can be chaotic. Outside the peak weeks, these areas are much easier to navigate.
The town centre around Market Place and the pedestrianised areas has older terraces with on-street parking. Shepshed to the west is a separate town with a mix of housing types. Quorn, Mountsorrel and Barrow upon Soar to the south are desirable villages along the A6 and the River Soar valley.
The M1 junction 23 is just 3 miles west via the A512, giving fast access to Leicester, Nottingham and Derby. The A6 runs through the centre, connecting to Leicester to the south and Loughborough to the north.
Rates start from £19 per hour. For student moves, book early for July and September as demand is high.
