Dorset is a coastal county with the Jurassic Coast, Hardy Country and the Bournemouth-Poole-Christchurch conurbation. Bournemouth and Poole are the main population centres with a mix of Victorian seafront flats, suburban homes and new developments. Poole has the Sandbanks peninsula with some of the most expensive properties in England. Dorchester is the county town with a mix of older buildings and newer estates. The A31, A35 and A350 are the main road routes — there is no motorway in Dorset, and the A35 along the coast can be slow in summer. Dorset does not have a Clean Air Zone.
